I’m the person lurking behind the lens, getting into weird and wonderful positions to create an image that makes you smile. Let me tell you a bit more about me.
I live in a little hamlet called Riding Gate just outside of Wincanton on the border of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire. Surrounded by countryside, it is the ultimate playground for me and my pack.
I am a mummy to two small people, wife to my long suffering best friend and dinner lady to my cats, dog, chickens and horses.
I smile a lot, don’t take myself too seriously, I drink far too much coffee and eat too much cake!
I am a people person . I love being with others, especially small people - they just make me smile. I love chatting to expectant and new parents about all things babies and children and I am very open about my own experiences - warts and all!
I've always had a passion for photography. When I became a mummy, I was obsessed with photographing all the little details and precious moments of my children as reminders of their childhood.
So, after fifteen years of the Corporate business world, I waved goodbye to my ‘power heels’ to follow my dream of capturing those cherished moments for others...and I've not looked back!
Every person and every family has a unique story, and it is my goal through my photographs to capture the beauty of their lives in a meaningful, personal and nostalgic way. I strive to go above and beyond perfectly posed photographs, and instead capture and freeze moments in time that are real and natural - that record the beautiful everyday moments of parenthood. Trust me, I know how much you want to hold onto every second.
I take a lifestyle approach to photography which means no formal or forced posing, no ‘saying cheese’ and I’ll never rush you on. My sessions have no set format, I’m led by you. I don’t use additional lighting, props or staging – we use the environment around us to help tell the story.
I prioritise connection over perfection. I find that the best results come from just letting you be you and snapping those moments that really capture what you and your family are all about.
It results in timeless photographs that keep beautiful even years later, never going out of fashion. Each family and each pregnancy is unique and I am happy when the photographs can show their beauty.
I love working with families at all stages in their journey: They say don’t work with animals or kids, but I disagree. Kids are the most rewarding subjects a photographer can work with. Whether it is a new-born shoot with the tiny fingers and toes and scrunched up bodies; or older babies who are inquisitive and ‘into’ EVERYTHING; or older children with all their energy, each session is different, and I love it.
